This was an excellent post on a great player who got lost in the shuffle.

There’s not enough out there about Marvin Winkler. I was happy to see him earn a championship ring with Milwaukee in ‘71. One has to be good not to play most of the regular season (due to injury), but still wind up on the playoff roster. In addition, it would’ve been even nicer to see him last the whole season with Indiana and pick up another championship ('72). Nevertheless, he should be in the Indiana Hall of Fame as well!

Also, thanks for including the story about the Dallas Chaps and their GM. I’ve written about it numerous times. Joe Geary was a piece of work and spewed his bigotry for all the world to hear. I’m glad for that season, the Dallas Chaps stunk up the joint, and dust for about the birth of the San Antonio Spurs 😆
